Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-weight travel apparatus with an adjustable wheel base length and allowing an easy getting on and off as a personal mobility, solving the problem of how to secure stability when the wheel base length is shortened while securing traveling performance.SOLUTION: A travel apparatus includes: a front-wheel support member for rotatably supporting a front wheel; a carriage base for rotatably and respectively supporting plural rear wheels arranged in a travel direction; a user boarding part disposed on the carriage base; a rear-wheel support member that is swingably pivot-supported on the carriage base about a swing shaft that is parallel to respective rotation shafts of the plural rear wheels; a drive part for driving at least one of the front and rear wheels; an adjustment mechanism that includes a rotation part for relatively rotating the front-wheel support member and rear-wheel support member and changes the wheel base length by changing an angle formed between the front-wheel support member and rear-wheel support member; and a control part for controlling the drive part on the basis of a target speed correlated with a parameter associated with the wheel base length.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
