PURPOSE: To easily execute the retrieval and the utilization of latest information required for traveling by providing an IC card and a base station capable of writing the latest information related to a timetable and a guide book, etc., required for the traveling in an IC memory.
CONSTITUTION: The base station 10 provided with terminal equipment railway is installed in every railway station, and each is connected to a host computer 16 by an LAN(local area network) 15. In the IC card 1, a central processing unit(CPU) 2 as a microprocessor, a memory RAM/ROM 3 as the IC memory, a memory VRAM 4, an input port 5 to which a signal for a traveler to take out the information in the IC memory is inputted from a touch panel surface, a liquid crystal display part(LCD) 6, and a communication port 8 provided with a contact to communicate with the base station 10 and so on are arranged in the plastic card of the nearly same size as a cash card. Then, the information displayed on the liquid crystal display part 6 can be seen from the outside.
