To secure power and to perform low temperature protection autonomously by preventing a moon rover 10 from advancing to a shade.
The moon rover images a temperature distribution image or the like on the surface of the moon with a thermo camera 12. A shade is generated in a concave landform with respect to a flat landform, and sunlight irradiation sides of flat landforms and convex landforms are sunshiny. In such a case, on the surface of the moon, sunshiny parts reach a high temperature while temperatures of the shades drop to low temperatures. A proximity determining part 24 of the travel control device 100 determines proximity to a shade, and a travel control part 28 performs remote operation control while performing rudder confirmation so as to avoid low-temperature parts to travel on high-temperature parts. Namely, a direction is changed toward a high-temperature part when the distance of a boundary between a drive part and a low-temperature part is within a constant range. The travel control part 28 of the travel control device 100 stops the drive part when there is a low-temperature part in an advancing direction or when the distance of the boundary between the drive part and the low-temperature part is within the constant range regardless of the change of a direction.
