Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a travel control device for wall surface traveling robot capable of displaying suction efficiency to the utmost and traveling safely without the possibility of falling from a wall surface.
CONSTITUTION: This travel control device is composed of a control plate 43 which is fixed to both sides of a frame body and on which a fanlike suction through hole 47, connected to a vacuum generation device via a suction pipe, is formed; control rings 20 on which many rows of small holes 46 are provided at regular intervals in a peripheral direction; a switching plate 44 which is interposed between these switching plates 44 and the control ring 20 and thereto a suction through-hole 48 is provided; and plural moving suction pipes 32 connecting the respective small holes 46 of a pair of the control rings 20 and the respective suction chambers 28 of respective moving suction cups 6 into a communicated condition; At every time when an angle formed by two rows of the small holes of the control rings 20 by the switching plate 44 to the control plate 43, the suction portion of the moving suction cup 6 to a wall surface and the receding portion of the moving suction cup 6 to the wall surface are continuously renewed in order.
