SOLUTION: This device has a function of issuing an alarm when a fuel consumption rate accords with an alarm area set based on a prescribed fuel consumption rate alarm level determination curve with vehicle travelling speed used as a parameter, a function of issuing an alarm when the consumption rate or an instantaneous fuel flow, corresponding to the degree of incline, accords with an alarm area set based on a prescribed fuel consumption rate alarm level determination curve or an instantaneous fuel flow alarm level determination curve, with the degree of incline used as a parameter, or a function of issuing an alarm when the consumption rate or the flow, corresponding to a vehicle load during travelling, accords with an alarm area set based on a prescribed fuel consumption rate alarm level determination curve or an instantaneous fuel flow alarm level determination curve, with the load used as a parameter.
