Abstract:
PURPOSE: To inform a following vehicle that this vehicle is in a speed reduction state by turning ON stop lamps when the reduced speed by the braking force of a braking means exceeds a specific value.
CONSTITUTION: A relay 24 is added to the circuit for the stop lamps 21 and the relay 24 is energized with a command from a controller 6. The controller 6 sends an excitation command signal when an estimated reduced speed αis larger than the certain value. The estimated reduced speed α is calculated as a reduced speed corresponding to torque variation at the time of shift-down operation in the state of a travel in an overdrive state to the 3rd speed gear. When a braking force is automatically applied on the basis of the distance to a precedent vehicle, the relative speed, etc., the stop lamps are automatically turned ON, so the following vehicle is informed of the speed reduction state of this vehicle to prevent a collision.
