Abstract:
To provide a travel mode switching support method and a travel mode switching support system which suppress discomfort felt by a driver.SOLUTION: A travel mode switching support method supports the switching of a travel mode of a vehicle capable of traveling in a plurality of travel modes. The method includes: determining whether the vehicle is present in a preparation area set adjacently to a restriction area where a specific travel mode to be set is predetermined; transmitting a preparation signal indicating that the vehicle is present in the preparation area, when it is determined that the vehicle is present in the preparation area; and outputting a prescribed output for switching from a travel mode in use to the specific travel mode, when the preparation signal is received.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
