The travel resistance simulator 4 is equipped with: a dynamometer 10 measuring output from a power train 1; a rotating shaft 5 connecting an output shaft 2a of the power train 1 with an input shaft 10a of the dynamometer 10; and a load imparting device imparting the load simulating travel resistance F generated on a vehicle in traveling state to the rotating shaft 5. The load imparting device is equipped with: a rolling resistance imparting device 6 or a first load imparting device imparting the load simulating rolling resistance f1; a gradient resistance imparting device 7 or a second load imparting device imparting the load simulating a gradient resistance f2; an air resistance imparting device 8 or a third load imparting device imparting the load simulating air resistance f3; and an acceleration resistance imparting device 9 or a fourth load imparting device imparting the load simulating acceleration resistance f4.
