The travel route switching device is provided with a turn table formed with a communication travel route having a guide rail, a first and a second trolley lines, and turns the turn table with an electric motor to switch travel route for the carrying truck. The travel route switching device is formed of an inverter control means for controlling revolving speed of the electric motor, a brake means for braking turn of the turn table to stop it, and a positioning and fixing means for accurately positioning the turn table at the predetermined stop position to fix it to the stop position. When switching travel route by turning the turn table, operation is performed through a first stage for turning at high speed, a second stage for turning at a low speed, a third stage for stopping by braking, and a fourth stage for accurately positioning to the stop position to fix to the stop position.
