Abstract:
To provide a travel support method for a travel support apparatus, and a travel support apparatus, which are for adjusting a control amount of vehicular lateral position and attitude in accordance with a travel scene where the vehicle travels in a time ahead.SOLUTION: A travel support apparatus includes a controller that performs: obtaining a feature of a road which a vehicle travels on; calculating a target travel locus for causing the vehicle to travel on the basis of the obtained feature of the road; and controlling a lateral position and an attitude at a control target point established on the target travel locus so as to travel along the target travel locus. In a case where a travel scene where the vehicle travels in a time ahead is determined to be a curve exit, the controller increases a control amount of attitude compared with a case where the travel scene is determined to be a curve entrance or a steady circular turning.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
