There is provided a travelable area display system which comprises: a road database 20 which stores road information and speed information; a fuel economy database 21 which stores reference fuel economy according to travel speed; route search means 30 which searches for routes from a place of departure to a destination from the road information; speed pattern acquisition means 31 which acquires the speed information as a speed pattern for the routes from the road database 20; charging amount calculation means 32 which acquires the reference fuel economy for the travel speed for the speed pattern from the fuel economy database 21 and calculates a required amount of fuel from the reference fuel economy and the routes; determination means 33 which determines whether an electric vehicle can travel from the place of departure to the destination from an amount of charge charged in the electric vehicle and the required amount of fuel.
