PURPOSE: To permit free change of direction in the longitudinal and transverse directions by arranging endless body each of which is constituted of crawler unit-pieces in two directions crossing at right angles at the grounded part.

CONSTITUTION: A traveling apparatus 10 is equipped with a pair of endless bodies 4 and 5 each of which is constituted of a plurality of crawler unit-pieces 1 which are attached in the directions crossing at right angles each other, and driving shafts 12 and 13 and a driving roller 14 for traveling-driving the respective bodies 4 and 5 are arranged in a body frame 11. Said endless bodies 4 and 5 cross on the grounded surface side and are constituted so that both endless bodies pass by each other by allowing one endless body 4 to travel in the frame 11. One of the endless bodies 4 and 5 is traveled by revolving the driving shaft 12 or 13 by a driving apparatus, and the whole apparatus can be traveled in a desired direction.
