Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make such braking control as being excellent in responsiveness even at the time of low temperature performable, by installing a piezoelectric piston mechanism, consisting of a piezoelectric element being controlled for its expansion or contraction by a voltage signal, in a wheel cylinder, while installing a heating unit in and around this wheel cylinder. CONSTITUTION:When hydraulic pressure produced in a master cylinder with operation of a brake pedal is fed to a wheel cylinder 17 via a selector control valve 19 and an oil passage, a brake piston 16 is driven, and a brake disc 12 is pressed between an inner pad 13 and an outer pad 14 whereby braking force is produced there. At the abovementioned, a piezoelectric piston mechanism 22 being made up of layering plural sheets of thine platelike piezoelectric elements 221, 222 and so on is installed in the wheel cylinder 17. In addition, a heating unit 25 is embedded in a brake caliper 15 in a state of approximating to the wheel cylinder 17 and the piezoelectric piston mechanism 22, heating and operating it in a state of being low in ambient temperature, and viscosity of oil is made so as to be raisable.
