Abstract:
To provide a traveling device that can cause a wheel to travel and can steer the wheel, by means of one motor.SOLUTION: A traveling device including: a steering base 124; and a wheel base 120 by which a wheel shaft 122 that rotates a wheel 106 that is rotated around a horizontal axis HL is supported so as to free to rotate and that is provided so as to be rotatable around a vertical axis VL relative to the steering base 124, comprises: a wheel shaft driving device 126 that rotates and drives the wheel shaft 122; a vertical-axis rotation device 128 that rotates the steering base 124 around the vertical axis VL; an interrupting device 132 that selectively drives and couples the wheel shaft 122 and the vertical-axis rotation device 128; and a wheel base rotation control device 134 that stops or allows rotation of the steering base 124 around the vertical axis VL.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
