To provide an auxiliary wheel type traveling device for snowy road or the like allowing an automobile to travel safely on a snowy road without reducing a service life of a tire of the automobile.

An adapter disc 8 is always fixed to a wheel 3 of a wheel 1 of the automobile. An auxiliary wheel 2 having a tire 7 using a temperature sensitive rubber on at least a tread surface is prepared. The tire 7 of the auxiliary wheel 2 is mounted on a periphery of a wheel of the auxiliary wheel 6 attachable to the adapter disc 8, and the auxiliary wheel 2 has a diameter approximately same as or larger than a diameter of the wheel 1 of the automobile. When the automobile enters a snowy road, the wheel 1 of the automobile rides on a plate to attach the auxiliary wheel 2 to the adapter disc 6. The tire 7 of the auxiliary wheel 2 is cured to grip a road surface strongly.
