To provide a traveling mechanism for a wheel type construction machine capable of effectively inhibiting the rise of oil temperature in a hydraulic open circuit in a case when a foot is separated from an accelerator pedal during traveling, regardless of a weight of a car body and a condition of a traveling road, and practically effectively preventing the bad influence of heat to a hydraulic apparatus.
This traveling mechanism comprises a hydraulic pump 2, a hydraulic motor 5 for traveling, driven by the hydraulic oil supplied from the hydraulic pump, a counter balance valve 4 for preventing the stall rotation of the hydraulic motor, a control valve 3 for controlling a supply flow rate of the hydraulic oil from the hydraulic pump to the hydraulic motor, and a travel remote controlling means 16 for controlling the control valve in accordance with the pressing of the accelerator pedal 17. The travel remote controlling means has a means 18 for limiting the returning of the counter balance valve and the control valve to their neutral positions.
