To provide a traveling object with a simple structure having a tight turning circle and improved traveling precision during an autonomous traveling control.

The traveling object 1 has front wheels 3 and 4 driven independently positioned at left and right side faces of a body 2a, rear wheels 9 and 10 synchronously turning with the front wheels 3 and 4, and a turnable steering wheel positioned between the rear wheels 9 and 10. The rear wheels 9 and 10 are afloat in a state where the steering wheel and the front wheels 3 and 4 are touching the ground. The tangential velocity of the periphery of the front wheels 3, 4 and the rear wheels 9, 10 are substantially the same. The traveling object 1 carries a television camera 1a and a radio communication device 1b and can autonomously travel.
