Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traveling position correcting mechanism of a carriage for in-pipe work capable of automatically correcting a bias of a traveling position so as to return an inclination of a body even when the carriage is towed in either direction of forward or backward.
SOLUTION: When the body of the carriage 1 inclines with respect to a center G of gravity of a weight 36 rotating along with a tow shaft 27 and around it, the tow shaft rotates with respect to the body and a bevel gear 22 changing direction of traveling wheels 4 is rotated via either one of bevel gears 28 and 29 so as to return the inclination of the body with respect to its traveling direction. In the bevel gears 28 and 29, by an axial displacement of the tow shaft caused by towing by a towing member, the bevel gear 28 is coupled to the tow shaft and the bevel gear 29 is uncoupled when the carriage is towed from a tow member 6 side, and the bevel gear 29 is coupled to the tow shaft and the bevel gear 28 is uncoupled when the carriage is towed from an opposite side.
