Title:
TRAVELING SYSTEM EMPLOYING MAGNETS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0322802
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To simplify the structure and to realize preferable application onto a rail toy by constituting a traveling system with a base board where magnets are so arranged that there polarities are alternately opposite and rails for supplying AC current are arranged on both the sides of the magnet row, and a traveling car whose brushes for collecting current supplied to an electromagnet is in contact with the rails.

CONSTITUTION: When AC current is fed to a pair of rails 3 and thence fed through a brush 7 to an electromagnet 6, the polarity of the electromagnet 6 in a traveling car varies to produce attraction or repellence with respect to small magnets 2. Consequently, the speed of the traveling car can be controlled through frequency control of AC power. Since no motor is required for the traveling car, the size of the traveling car can be reduced considerably, the structure thereof is simplified and the noise can be reduced.
