To provide a traveling type dust collecting apparatus equipped with a rocking and suction nozzle capable of efficiently sucking fly waste, fiber dust, etc., on a floor in a wide zone.

This traveling type dust collecting apparatus for a spinning machine is equipped with a crank 12 eccentrically rotatably set on the top of a suction pipe 5, a rod 16 for rocking a suction nozzle at the bottom in the direction perpendicular to a traveling direction and a flexible rotation transmitting shaft 17 whose end is connected to an input shaft of a crank 12. The length of the rod 16 is vertically adjusted so as to regulate the velocity and the amplitude of rocking and the fitting angle of an action band is properly set so as to change the locus behavior of the suction nozzle. This traveling type dust collecting apparatus can be traveled and operated while efficiently sucking fly waste, etc., in a wide zone, requires no particular power, can be fitted to an existing device, is inexpensive, can reduce hand operation and improve efficiency of cleaning operation in a spinning machine work and lower a cost.
