The traveling vehicle includes: a traveling mode switching/determining part 32 for determining whether a manual operation mode or an automatic traveling mode is used; remote control signal receiving parts 5a to 5d for receiving signals from a remote controller; and traveling direction/speed control part 33 for controlling a traveling speed of the traveling vehicle. When the traveling vehicle travels in a direction of receiving a signal from the remote controller, the traveling direction/speed control part 33 controls the traveling speed of the traveling vehicle so as to reduce the speed as compared with when the traveling vehicle travels in other direction.
