Title:
TRAVELING WAVE TUBE HAVING SLEEVE CONSTITUTED SO AS TO ACCEPT DELAY LINE BY MONTAGE IN CHILLED STATE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04230933
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the time required to assemble a traveling wave tube by furnishing radially stretching slots in a flange of sleeves made of a magnetic substance. CONSTITUTION: Continuous H-shaped flanges 32 are furnished on a sleeve which includes a part 30 formed consolidatedly from a magnetic substance in the form of a cylinder tube 31 substantially. Each flange 32 is equipped with at least three radially stretching slots 33 having a widths (h), and the sleeve has a small thickness 1' between two adjoining flanges 32. The slots 33 and the thickness 1' of sleeve are arranged so as to facilitate caulking of the sleeve by shrinking the diameter round an assembly having three supports surrounding the delay line. As a result, the support-delay line assembly is gripped in the sleeve after the process of shrinking the diameter. The depth (h) is substantially equal to the height H, and the slots 33 are arranged uniformly in the flanges 32.
