To provide a mechanism for relaxing the impact of a travelling body of a transport device at stopping and starting travel when travelling at a high speed.

This travelling body stopping mechanism comprises a base 11 provided at a predetermined position on a transport rail 1 and a guide means 13 and a latch means 14 turnably provided on the base. At the front end of the latch means 14, a latch front end member 19 is provided turnable while being energized in a preset direction. When the guide means and the latch means are turned and tilted, the guide means guides a locking member 5 of the travelling body 3 downward and a front end 14c of the latch means latches the locking member. This travelling body storage mechanism comprises a rocking member 4 provided at the frontward end of the travelling body and an impact guide plate 43 protruded rearward from the rearward end thereof in an obliquely downward direction, in addition to the travelling body stopping mechanism. At one end of the rocking member, a weight member 41 provided protruding from the frontward end of the travelling body, and at the other end of the rocking member, the locking member 5 is provided protruding therefrom.
