PURPOSE: To aim at keeping off a tie-up in time of turning as well as an end face drop in a slider, by making up the slider of a yarn guide so as to be guided into an intermediate part, both end parts, and a turnover part separately through a sliding surface engaging each of two types of deep and shallow cam grooves installed in a traverse drum.
CONSTITUTION: In case of a slider 5, its sliding part 6 alone is guided into a shallow can groove 3 at both ends of a traverse drum 1 by each of guide rails 8 and 8', while at the intermediate part, its sliding part 7 alone is guided into a deep cam groove 4, and when the slider 5 reaches a turn part end, the sliding part 6 makes contact with the cam groove 3 in proportion as width of the cam groove 3 becomes narrowed by degrees. Here, since the side of the sliding part 6 at the turn part end is set to a curved surface equal to that of the cam groove 3 in terms of carvature, the sliding part 6 rotates smoothly along the curved surface of the cam groove 3, while the sliding part 7 is released from engagement as width of the deep groove 4 comes wider in proportion as it draws near to the turn part end whereby the sliding part 7 rotates following the sliding part 6. Thus, neither traverse motion is tied up nor a package presents an appearance of drum-form, so that the slider rocks and thereby no filament yarn comes off the package end face.
