To provide a tray for planting to be used in e.g. raising a plant such as lawn, capable of favorably raising such a plant even without a wide field or raising land and easy in regulating water supply level and fertilizer maintenance and the like.

This tray for planting is characterized by having such a construction that a tray body 1 of approximately flat box shape with the top face opened is divided into a plurality of small chambers 10 by partitions 11 and the chambers 10 are respectively packed with a water-absorbing resin or powdery granules 2 comprising the resin. The top face of the tray body 1 may be covered with a sheet- or film-like water-soluble cover 3 as necessary, or the powdery granules 2 may be fixed with a water-soluble setting agent on the bottom of the respective small chambers 10.
