PURPOSE: To absorb gases efficiently in a tray tower of narrow tray spacings by mixing the gases blown out through plural gas blow ports of tray plates and absorbing liquid flowing of the plates to gas-mixed phase fluids, and subjecting these to gas-liquid sepn. with diffusion plates.
CONSTITUTION: In gas absorption using a tray tower 5, gases are blown out through plural gas blow ports of ≤20mm equivalent diameters provided on tray plates 1, and the blown gases and the absorbing liquid which is flowed onto the plates 1 from downcomers 6 and flows in the plates 1 are regulated of flow at 10W80° angles to the flow direction of the absorbing liquid and are mixed to ascending gas-mixed phase fluids. These fluids are scattered by diffusion plates 2 installed on the plates 1, whereby they are subjected to gas-liquid sepn. The separated gases ascend, and the separated liquid returns again onto the plates 1, and forms liquid hold-ups. Part of the liquid overflows from outlet weirs 3 and flows into the downcomers 6.
