Abstract:
PURPOSE:To facilitate the determination of wear condition of a tire by operating a measuring knob with a reference surface of a body case abutting a tread part of the fire to make the tip of a measuring element protrude until it comes into contact with the bottom of a tread groove. CONSTITUTION:A body case 2 of a measuring device 1 has a reference surface 3 abutting a tread part of a tire. A measuring element 4 is provided in the body case 2 in such a manner as to move forward and backward freely so that it advances into a groove at the tread part of the tire sticking out of the reference surface 3. The case 2 is provided with a measuring knob 5 to advance or retract the measuring element 4. Furthermore, a display section 6 is provided to display or report a depth level of a tread groove being distinguished by multiple stages corresponding to a sticking size of the measuring element 4 from the reference surface 3. This enables quick and accurate determination of at what level wear condition of the tire is.
