To provide a tread rubber composition for studless tires improving ice and snow performances without deteriorating wet performances and abrasion resistance as compared with those of a rubber composition prepared by simply compounding an inorganic compound such as silica and aluminum hydroxide and carbon black therein.

The tread rubber composition for the studless tires is characterized by compounding a rubber component containing 20-70 pts. mass of natural rubber and 30-80 pts. mass of a polybutadiene rubber with a filler for reinforcing rubber composed of the inorganic compound having the surface treated with the carbon black.
