To safely detoxify a harmful chlorine compd. with high efficiency without generating an oxide thereof and to make an apparatus compact and portable.
This harmful chlorine compd. treatment apparatus roughly consists of an optical decomposition unit 21, a post-treatment unit 10 and a control monitor unit 15. The optical decomposition unit 21 consists of a harmful chlorine compd. tank 2, an NaOH tank 4, an alcoholic solvent tank 3, a soln. tank 5a, a pump 6, a reaction tank 7, a light source 8 emitting ultraviolet rays and a decomposition product tank 9. The pump 6 is provided between the soln. tank 5a and the reaction tank 7 to form a soln. circulating loop. The post- treatment unit 10 separates the undecomposed harmful chlorine compd. in the product after the optical decomposition by the optical decomposition unit 21, an alcoholic solvent and other product to recover only the alcoholic solvent to utilize the same. The control and monitor unit 15 monitors and controls the apparatus constituting the optical decomposition unit 21 and the post- treatment unit 10.
