PURPOSE: To contrive to prevent entering of the air contg. moisture from space between a lid and treating vessel, by sealing up the lid and a molten metal treating vessel with specified sealing unit, in apparatus for releasing the treatment gas from lower end of a vertical rotary shaft penetrating the lid closing an aperture at upper end of the treating vessel.
CONSTITUTION: The vertical rotary shaft 4 penetrating a hole of the freely attachable and detachable lid 10 of the molten metal treating vessel 1 is rotated. Treating gas is released and dispersed in fine bubble state into molten such as Al from a blowing hole 7 of a rotating body 6 set at lower end of the shaft 4 communicated thereto through a path 5 of the inner part, to remove impurity in molten metal. In the apparatus, peripheral part of the lid 10 is protruded to outer part father than outer circumferential surface of vessel peripheral wall 1a, and an annular downwardly protruding wall 13 is set over the whole circumference at the protruding part. An annular groove 8 for fitting seal material and upwardly opened is set over the whole peripheral at upper end of outer peripheral surface of the wall 1a, and the seal material 9 composed of fine sand granules is fitted therein. The wall 13 is inserted to the material 9 to seal the lid 10 under surface and upper end of the wall 1a through a heat resistant gasket 12.
