PURPOSE: To provide the device which efficiently screen and recover empty cans made of aluminum and iron from bagged waste contg. the empty cans made of the aluminum and the iron as well as wet dust, etc.

CONSTITUTION: The bagged waste W is passed through a primary bag rupturing device 15 and a secondary bag rupturing device 16, by which the bags are ruptured. The waste is then supplied to a wet dust recovering device 18 where the wet dust is removed. The waste is thereafter air-screened by the air flow from a blower 3. The lightest waste W1 is blown upward and is stuck to a meshed belt of a meshed conveyor 5, by which the wet dust is transported outside the sphere of the air flow. The heavy waste W2, such as glass bottles, falls. The waste W2 mainly contg. the empty cans is supplied to a trommel screen 4 where only the empty cans are screened.
