PURPOSE: To provide a waste treating device which treats waste so as to recycle the useful materials therein as far as possible and takes recovery of plastics particular into consideration.
CONSTITUTION: The waste treating device for crushing the waste and fractionating and recovering metals, etc., is successively provided with a first classifying device 8, a cooler 10 and a crushing machine 11 for selectively crushing the plastics by utilizing the embrittlement characteristics at a low temp. of the plastics, and a second classifying device 12 behind a metal fractionating device and is further provided with a screening device for plastics consisting of a sp. gr. screening device 13 for further fractionating the smaller waste of the waste classified by the first classifying device 8 and the second classifying device 12. The first classifying device 8 which classifies the waste to three kinds; large, middle and small and supplies the large waste to the cooler 10 and the waste of about the middle sizes together with the smaller crushed matter classified by the second classifying device 12 to the sp. gr. screening device is more effective.
