Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a treatment method to prevent frays of polyamide single fiber bared on a belt end during preparation when applied as a reinforcing fiber of a power transmission belt, to improve adhesion of an aromatic polyamide fiber to a matrix rubber and not to reduce fatigue resistance.
CONSTITUTION: Aromatic polyamide yarn is treated with an agent comprising a liquid rubber having hydroxyl groups on both ends and 500-10,000 molecular weight and a liquid rubber having isocyanate groups on both ends and 500-10,000 molecular weight, heat treated at 100-260°C for 30-210 seconds and twisted in a range of 1≤K≤5 (K=T×D1/2/2874, K; twist coefficient, D; denier), and then an adhesive containing RFL(Resorcin-formalin latex) is applied to the treated yarn.
