Abstract:

To provide a method of treating a mammal patient with an autoimmune disease, comprising administering to the mammal a therapeutically effective amount of an antagonist which binds to a B lymphocyte (B cell) surface marker in lymphocytes, which are one of many types of white blood cells produced in the bone marrow during the process of hematopoiesis.

The present invention concerns a method of treating an autoimmune disease in a mammal with a therapeutically effective amount of an antagonist which binds to a B cell surface marker, such as CD19 or CD20. The antagonist includes an antigen.
