Title:
TREATMENT OF DESULFURIZATION SLAG
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6039113
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To utilize effectively desulfurization slag of molten iron as a raw material for sintering ore for a blast furnace by adding desiliconization slag of a high temp. to said slag and dehydrating said slag separating magnetically the slag after grinding.

CONSTITUTION: Molten iron is preliminarily desulfurized by quicklime, etc. prior to refining for steel making. Water is sprayed to the slag byproduced in this stage to make the slag wet and prevent generation of dust. A large amt. of powder iron is contained in such wet desulfurization slag and therefore desiliconization slag of a high temp. generated likewise in the preliminarily desiliconization of the molten iron to dehydrate the desulfurization slag, by which the dry slag mixture of the desulfurization slag and the desiliconization slag is obtd. Such slag is ground with a rod mill or the like and the granular iron contained therein is separated. The slag is separated to a magnetic part contg. the granular iron and the nonmagnetic part contg. much CaO. The separated parts are respectively effectively utilized as a row material for an iron source for sintered ore and an auxiliary raw material for addition of CaO.
