Abstract:
PURPOSE: To quickly and surely separate a zinc stuck to dross and to recover the zinc at high recovery ratio by extracting the dross produced in a hot dip galvanizing bath and heating and vaporizing the dross at the temp. above the b.p. of zinc.
CONSTITUTION: The dross produced in the hot dip galvanizing bath is taken out to the other vessel. The dross therein, is heated to a little higher temp. than 906°C the b.p. of zinc. By this method, the zinc stuck to the dross is vaporized, separated and recovered. Desirably, this zinc vapor is introduced into the hot dip galvanizing bath having about 460°C liquid temp., liquefied and recovered. By this method, the zinc stuck to the dross can be recovered at the high recovery ratio of ≥95%.
