To provide iron oxide reduction equipment which simultaneously performs the treatment of organic wastes and the reduction of the iron oxide of a zinc-containing dust and forms a fuel in the apparatus.
A mixed raw material 30 is continuously fed from a raw material feed port 8 onto the rotating grate 31 of a circulation grate apparatus 1. The mixed raw material 30 on the grate 31 is dried with dry air fed from a dry air feed port 9. The volatile gas formed when organic wastes contained in the dried mixed raw material 30 on the grate 31 are carbonized with superheated steam fed from a carbonization gas feed port 10, and the formed volatile gas is discharged from a volatile gas discharge port 22. A portion of the carbonized product is burnt, and the zinc present as an oxide in the mixed raw material 30 on the grate 31 is reacted with superheated steam to form a water gas, and the zinc and the water gas are discharged.
