To realize effective recycling of iron manufacture waste containing much volatile substance such as chlorine, which has been conventionally discarded, while efficiently collecting zinc contained in a raw material of the waste, in a treatment furnace for manufacturing reduced agglomerates from the waste as the raw material.
The furnace comprises a first air outlet for discharging volatile gases, which is installed closely to a raw material charging device, and a second air outlet for collecting zinc, which is installed on the side of a device for discharging reduced agglomerates. The furnace comprises controlling a furnace temperature in a generating zone of the volatile gas, which is discharged from the first air outlet, to lower than 900°C, and the furnace temperature in the zone for collecting zinc which is discharged from the second air outlet, to 900°C or higher. A dwell time of the raw materials in the volatile gas generating zone is to be 2-10 minutes. The furnace has dampers in exhaust systems in both the first air outlet and the second air outlet, or one in either of the above exhaust systems and one in the rear of a part of connecting both exhaust systems, to exhaust each gas in a constant rate from the first and the second air outlet by adjusting each damper.
