Abstract:
To provide a treatment method for a lead sulfate-contg. material having excellent treatment efficiency.
A carbon source is added to the lead sulfate-contg. material and the material is put into a sintering furnace. The inside of the furnace is maintained by using a carbon source as a heat source at a high temp. at which the lead sulfate decomposes. While the formation of lead sulfide and metal lead is suppressed, the conversion from the lead sulfide to lead oxide is accelerated in the presence of carbon monoxide generated from the carbon source. The sintered compact formed in such a manner is crushed and is then subjected to smelting reduction in a blade furnace, by which the lead metal is recovered.
