Abstract:

To provide a molten metal treatment method, to aluminum or aluminum alloy molten metal including Ti, V and the other peritectic elements as impurities, which can efficiently reduce them on an industrial scale.

When an aluminum or aluminum alloy molten metal including Ti, V and the other peritectic elements as impurities is prepared, Ti and B are charged to a melting furnace together with the aluminum raw material respectively in the form of simple substance metals or in the form of a master alloy with Al, the Ti and B in the form of the simple substance metals or in the form of the master alloy with Al are simultaneously dissolved together with the aluminum. Thereafter, from the dissolved aluminum or aluminum alloy molten metal, a sample is extracted-analyzed, based on the analyzed value, to the B in an equivalent reacted with the peritectic elements included in the aluminum or aluminum alloy molten metal, B or a B master alloy is surplusly added, and stirring is performed.
