To provide a treatment method and apparatus for residue of agricultural chemicals reducing the generation of secondary pollutant, safely retaining working environment and suitably decomposing organic halogens such as organochlorine compounds in solid-state agricultural chemicals without being left in the solid-state agricultural chemicals in the so-called residue of agricultural chemicals buried underground after prohibiting its use or being stored and left in a farmhouse.
This treatment method is characterized in that the solid-state residue of agricultural chemicals including halogenated compounds are dehalogenated by alkali metal, and treated objects after the dehalogenation are distilled under a reduced-pressure or vacuum-dried to remove the halogenated compounds from the treated objects.
