The treatment method of the asbestos-containing waste material is a method for making asbestos in the waste material nonasbestos and turning it to a detoxification treated object by crushing the asbestos-containing waste material in a sealed state and wet-pulverizing it under an alkaline aqueous solution. In the state of immersing the asbestos-containing waste material in the alkaline aqueous solution, crushing, pulverization and alkali treatment are simultaneously executed.
