Abstract:

To provide a method, for treating a catalyst carrier material, which can remove an impurity component contained in the catalyst carrier material to a maximum possible extent and thereby, prevent an electrode performance from becoming deteriorated by the adverse effect of the impurity component, as well as an electrode catalyst.

This method for treating the catalyst carrier material for supporting a metallic microparticle bearing a catalytic function, includes wet grinding a mixture containing the catalyst carrier material and a first liquid, and removing the impurities from the ground mixture.
