Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method for removing or reducing fine particles of sulfides (Mn-S, Cr-S, and Mo-S) of Mn, Cr, Mo and the like, remaining on the surface, without giving an adverse effect on accuracy of the shape and the dimension, from a machined workpiece of a free-cutting alloy steel containing sulfur.
SOLUTION: The treatment method for the free-cutting alloy steel containing sulfur includes a step of immersing the machined workpiece of the sulfur- containing free-cutting alloy steel into a solvent, and a step of cleaning it in the solvent with an ultrasonic wave having frequency of 40 kHz or multi- frequency at watt density of 1.0-2.0 W/cm2.
