The treatment method of the medical waste, for communicating the housing space of a container 4 including a container body part 6 having the housing space and a lid part 8 covering the upper end part of the container body part 6 to the outside, housing the medical waste inside the housing space and treating it, includes: a sheet covering process of covering at least a part of the container 4 with a heat-shrinkable sheet 28; and a sterilization treatment process of making high temperature steam flow into the housing space from the outside and executing the sterilization treatment of the medical waste. In the sterilization treatment process, the sheet 28 is heat-shrunk by the heat of the high temperature steam, and at least a part of it is closely attached to the connection part of the container body part 6 and the lid part 8.
