To provide a treatment method and a treatment apparatus for a water soluble resin component-containing alkaline waste liquid where, regarding waste liquid treatment in which a water soluble resin component-containing alkaline waste liquid is mixed with an H-form cation exchange resin, the mixture is reacted in a suspended state and is subjected to dealkalization treatment, and thereafter, pretreatment where the cation exchange resin is separated from the dealkalization liquid, and the separated cation exchange resin is regenerated, so as to re recycled is performed, the precipitation of water soluble resin components and the sticking and mixing of solid components to the resin upon the regeneration of the cation exchange resin, and driving defects caused by the storage of solid matter in the system thereby are prevented, and stable and efficient treatment is performed.
Upon the regeneration of a cation exchange resin, the cation exchange resin is pre-washed with water, and the cation exchange resin after the pre-washing is contacted with acid, so as to be regenerated. In the pre-washing, to the cation exchange resin in a regeneration vessel, water of 4 volume times or more of the cation exchange resin is circulated in an upward flow, and washing is performed.
