PURPOSE: To treat the pipe end of a foamed resin pipe in order to simply prevent water from penetrating into a foam layer.
CONSTITUTION: In the treatment of the pipe end of a foamed vinyl chloride resin pipe 1 wherein skin layers 12 are provided to the inner and outer surfaces of a foam layer, an adhesive is applied to the pipe end of the foamed vinyl chloride resin pipe 1 to be cured to form a cured film 2 and the foam layer 11 exposed to the pipe end is coated with the cured film 2. Or, by inserting a core in the pipe end of the foamed vinyl chloride resin pipe 1 to bond the same to the pipe end, the foam layer 11 exposed to the pipe end is coated. Further, by bringing a heating plate into contact with the pipe end of the foamed vinyl chloride resin pipe 1 to melt the same, a molten film is formed to the foam layer 11 exposed to the pipe end to close the same. Further, in the treatment of the pipe end of a composite pipe wherein the skin layer 12 is provided to the inner surface of the foam layer 11 and a metal layer is provided to the outer surface of the foam layer 11 through an adhesive layer, a sealant is injected in the foam layer 11 from the pipe end of the composite pipe and the foam layer 11 exposed to the pipe end is coated with the injected and cured part of the sealant.
