PURPOSE: To reclaim a rigid PVC and to make the reuse of a plasticizer possible, by extracting and separating the plasticizer present in a waste nonrigid PVC by using a mixture of a solvent capable of dissolving PVC and a solvent in which the plasticizer is soluble but PVC is insoluble or difficulty soluble.
CONSTITUTION: A treatment for reclaiming a waste nonrigid PVC such as an agricultural vinyl film is carried out by extracting a plasticizer present in said waste nonrigid PVC by using a mixture consisting of a solvent (A) in which the plasticizer is soluble but PVC is insoluble or difficultly soluble, such as methanol or CCl4, and a solvent (B) capable of dissolving PVC, such as methyl ethyl ketone or tetrahydrofuran. The mixing ratio of solvent A to solvent B is 8:2W2:8 by volume. It is preferred to use the solvent mixture in 2W10 times of the volume of the waste nonrigid PVC.
