Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a rational and easy treating method applicable industrially on a large scale in which residues from barium sulfide leaching or strontium sulfide leaching can be partially or completely reused and the mount of the residues to be disposed is substantially decreased.

CONSTITUTION: The treating method comprises using hydrochloric acid containing 25 to 32 wt.% HCl and sulfuric acid containing 80 to 100 wt.% H2SO4, and reacting residues from barium sulfide leaching or strontium sulfide leaching with the hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid at a temperature of from 60°C to the boiling point.
