To obtain a high-strength solidified article which has wide applications and great demands by treating mud sludge containing silica in order to reduce the volume of waste.
This method consists of an adding and mixing stage of obtaining clayey raw material by adding and mixing a calcium compound to and with the silica-containing mud sludge, a press molding stage for obtaining a solidified article body by press molding the clayey raw material and a water heat solidifying stage for obtaining the solidified article by solidifying the solidified article body by a water heat treatment. The method also consists of the adding, mixing and moisture regulating stage of obtaining the clayey raw material of 5 to 35 wt.% in moisture content by subjecting the silica-containing mud sludge to the addition and mixture of the calcium compound and the regulation of its moisture content, the press molding stage of obtaining the solidified article body by subjecting the clayey raw material to press molding and the water heat solidifying stage for obtaining the solidified article by solidifying the solidified article body by the water heat treatment.
